I am a visual artist living and practicing on Wilyakali land of the Barkindji nation and acknowledge their sovereignty, as they are the true custodians of this land. I pay my respects to elders past, present and emerging.
Alexandra Rosenblum’s practice utilises a variety of photographic mediums to explore the binaries of self actualisation.
Applying these processes to investigate concepts encompassing duality, vulnerability and tension, Alexandra produces photographs that are alluring yet evoke a feeling of uncertainty.
Her methodologies consist of experimentation with alternative photographic processes, as well as digital manipulation and mirroring. These techniques symbolise and reflect the conceptual discourse of her work.
Alexandra Rosenblum's photography becomes a platform that provides the viewer access to the artist's fragility and trauma whilst also encouraging self reflection.
Alexandra Rosenblum has presented work in regional Victoria, regional New South Wales and across metropolitan Melbourne in conjunction with various art spaces, and as unauthorized presentations of photographs in the form of paste ups.
